Live in action... the immersion ceremony

Live in action... the immersion ceremony. Right before the Ganesha's Idol is lifted up by the crane to immerse it in Hussain Sagar.

Hussain Sagar has many names, technically it is called as Hussain Sagar Lake. Picnickers & people thronging the lake call it Tank Bund and is pretty famous with that name, as compared to being called as Hussain Sagar Lake or Hussain Sagar.

A person speaking in general Hyderabadi slang would call it Tangbund. Off late haven't really heard people refer to Hussain Sagar Lake as Hussain Sagar or Hussain Sagar Lake. It is generally called as Tank Bund and thats it. That is the rule, call it Tank Bund.

Come Ganesh Chaturhi or Festival of Lord Ganesha and the name of this lake is rechristened as "Vinayaka Sagar". Then once this festival gets over, the name is reverted back to Tangbund as I would also love calling it.

Same seems to be the fate of Osman Sagar, popularly known as Gandipet. Himayat Sagar being the poorer cousin of Gandipet and the least frequented one hasn't yet achived itself a nickname. The day doesnot seem to be far away, when Himayat Sagar would also be rechristened as "something"
